When Sonny Vaccaro decided that the best marketing tool a footwear company could have was the kids, the world changed and footwear exploded into the mainstream.
It’s not that simple, but the endorsement of prep teams has been a mainstay for years. This collaboration between adidas and PBR however is a dig at Under Armour.
Under Armour won the rights to outfit the MLB. While this doesn’t take affect until 2020, adidas pulled a Sonny Vaccaro and just made an alignment that will place the premier athletes in baseball in adidas gear starting next month and lasting until 2022.
It should be noted that most of the time when a kid wears a particular brand as an “amatuer” they tend to stay with that brand once they become a pro.
