ASICS FlyteFoam™ Fast Series and Pace Academy

Every brand has taken the time to hitch their performance wagon to a technology that will inspire speed. adidas has Boost, Nike is pushing its new Vapor Max and now ASICS is making sure they remain just as strong and relevant in performance as always through their patented Flyte Foam.

Flyte Foam has been designed to give runners support through each spectrum. The lightweight midsole allows for neutral runners to find their fit and ASICS has made sure to look at pronation and stability for runners as well.

“ASICS stores worldwide use ASICS FOOT ID and Gait Analysistechnology to provide advice based on specific running patterns and pronation types. In-store experts also coach runners of all levels on which shoe fits their running style, and share tips on training for a customized running experience. These experts are equipped with the most up-to-date information on ASICS new releases, including the next-generation FlyteFoam Fast Series.”

They have three models in both mens and womens:

To tie in the promotion of this new speed system ASICS is going digital by creating the Pace Academy via Runkeeper.

“Alongside the FlyteFoam Fast Series, ASICS introduces Pace Academy, a series of Runkeeper workouts, pro tips, and inspiration from top athletes. ASICS Pace Academy will serve as a platform to help runners improve their speed. Within the Runkeeper app, workouts will be tailored to each runner’s ability, complete with audio coaching.

ASICS Pace Academy will be available on the Runkeeper app from mid-April in English and from mid-May in other languages.”

What I fully expect to happen with this project is a blending of technology and fashion in the new knit series. Right now the fashion forward knit models are monochromatic. The NOOSA FF outsole however offers the perfect opportunity for a multicolor version of the Knit trainer. This is a great project from ASICS and this video is perfect marketing.
