This video is a couple of years old, but it’s my first time seeing this. How could I have overlooked this? The concept is great and the training in this manner is intense.
The fight loyalist in me doesn’t like the idea of extending the rounds beyond 3 minute sparring, but watching this is fascinating. This episode features Hasim Rachman Jr. coming to the defense of his little brother Shariff who challenges a British Fighter named Donovan Cameron who initially challenged Ishe Smith.
I only have one qualm with this is that when the family comes to maintain the honor of the little brother, Donovan had already sparred. If you’ve boxed you know that even the smallest sparring can weigh your arms down for the rest of the day. Check it out and see if you agree with me when I say that I think things would have been different if the honor fight would have happened on the following day.
