I don’t know. I don’t know, I don’t know… I mean I really want to like the AJXXXI. I’m trying very hard to like it, but the styling elements are simply off. While I get the attempt to make a modern version of the Retro 1, I don’t get that seamless transition from knit to leather. I also don’t get the gradient transition of the Swoosh. One of the reasons the Retro 1 Banned is classic is because of the pop of that Swoosh in leather. I think this shoe should reflect the sketch below and on the left. Here in that middle photo you can see that retro element of the ankle collar, but that big Jumpman basically ruins the aesthetics. The Jordan wings logo should have been there and this shoe would have been a modern classic where people would have worn it casually and for performance. Instead that transition to leather and gigantic Jumpman ruins it for me. What do you think? Click the source link to read the history.
