Nike is painting a clear picture with every release they put before our eyes. I don’t recall Nike ever putting out a list of stockists for their sneakers; but in the past six months, the brand has done that for two key releases: the Off- white Collection and the upcoming Levi’s Air Jordan 4.

And I’ll add the list to this post and you’ll notice that most stores listed are sneaker boutiques. It shows clearly what direction Nike is going. When it comes to the performance/sporty sneakers, Nike store online and Footlocker ( and its derivatives) are going to be racking up most of the inventory and share the rest with smaller retailers i.e DTLR, Jimmy Jazz, etc.. While the lifestyle/exclusive products are going to be given to Sneaker boutiques. I wrote a post about it a few weeks ago , see link below

I’m sure all of you reading this are saying: “dude get to the point, how many pairs of the levi 4’s were made?” I’ll attempt to answer the question with logical reasoning. In 2008 Nike released the Levi X Air Jordan 1 pack, and only 501 pairs were made in keeping with the classic Denim 501 series. So from that, we can all assume that only 501 pairs of the Levi’s Air Jordan 4 were made. But looking at the packaging, included with the shoes is a reversible jacket and not the denim 501. So to answer the question let’s take a look at the number of stores getting the shoes and make some basic assumptions to come up with a fair estimate.

I counted a total of 69 stores and my basic assumption is this:

Each store will be allocated between 12 and 24 pairs so multiply that by 69 and we get an estimate. to be fair I’ll get an average : 24+12=36/2 =18 pairs per store

69 X 18 pairs= 1242 pairs, I think it’s less than that but that’s very limited.

Now here is the entire list of stockists courtesy of Nike.
