I’m really thrilled with Nike’s line up for 2018 and I have good reasons why. The Nike Air Foamposite One ‘Alternate Galaxy’, a derivative of the original Foamposite One Galaxy is a testament of things to come in the near future. The Air Foamposite One style was met with a lot of lukewarm responses from folks in the sneaker world this year for several reasons. The brand has disregarded scarcity and has released tons of redundant iterations of the Foams. Nike has relied heavily on the Swoosh logo for so many years that complacency has settled in. But the mediocre performance of many shoes from their basketball line coupled with Adidas’ recent resurgence/disruption have motivated Nike to rethink its entire release strategy.

The Galaxy Foamposite is probably the most sought after iteration of the Foams next to the Paranorman Edition. 2012 was probably one the best years for Nike Basketball and the Galaxy was the underlying reason. Nike is desperately trying to recapture the glory of those years and I think 2018 will bring the best out of the brand. I had a quick look at the release calendar for the month of January for the year 2018 and I was stunned with the line up. I won’t get into the details but check the picture below, a screenshot I obtained from DTLR and you’ll understand my excitement.

You can clearly see how compared to last year, this doesn’t look anything like what we were offered.

And Jordan Brand is planning on releasing a pair of ‘Black Out’ Retro 11 in the month of May. If you want to read more about that refer to my post below

The Air Jordan 11 Concord Will Return in 2018, Will It Bear The #45

The shoes will be  covered in a nebula-like graphic, a derivative of the galactic theme. Other notable features include black on the eyelets, tongue, laces, lining and rubber outsole. The classic  “Remove Before Flight” pull-tab  will also be included.
