ASICS under its Onitsuka Tiger brand continues to release collabs that are thought provoking and artistic. In Paris this past spring the annual collaboration of ASICS and ANREALAGE MONTE Z” with ANREALAGE (Anriareiji) was dropped and the highlight of the design was the Kimono inspired lacing system. What wasn’t noticeable was the AR features which could only be unlocked via your phone.

Using your smartphone you can actually listen to information about the design.

AR (augmented reality) technology, when you hold the smartphone to the sneakers you can hear the AR sound by Mr. Ichiro Yamaguchi of “Sakanaction”.

Based on “MONTE POKHARA (Monte Pokara)” based on a minimal and finished form with outdoor taste originally released in 2009 as the prototype, this collaboration shoes incorporates AR technology and retroreflective technology, It is finished in a design with duality that seems to be “ANREALAGE” with the concept of daily life as the concept.

Here is a short video featuring the shoes which released on June 17th. The holes featured on the upper, like the Puma Netfit can be laced in a variety of ways to deliver a personalized touch to the collab.
