Subset DublinArtists. Creators. Visionaries.Subset Dublin is too corporate for the artists, too artistic for the corporates. So they decided to say screw it and just do their own thing; and it’s a good thing they did, because it’s pure brilliance. A multidisciplinary artist collective

Saucony has long had an active blog that celebrated their small running shoe accounts. They have also worked hard at delivering information about lifestyle drops like the Originators series. While the brand has utilized the blog like most footwear companies there wasn’t and isn’t a consistent update of info. Today however was one of the first days I visited the site and discovered this post on the Subset Dublin Artists.

The posts reads more like a sneaker blog article and caters to the idea that originality is in alignment with the lifestyle qualities of the brand. It’s not a perfect post technically as the social sharing buttons are integrated into the site and they aren’t at the head of the article, but the social buttons are at the bottom of the page. The brand has also integrated the blog with Disqus as a discussion tool which will allow the site to be indexed and create a community that will be notified if people decide to respond.

Do I think that this is a step in the right direction? Definitely. Will it move the needle for lifestyle? Nope. This is why: Saucony’s blog has always been about the athletes and the runners. Lifestyle footwear from Saucony is featured when there is a limited drop. When the information is featured it is not shared out from the website. The brand has to be actively creating content and that will take writers who love the brand and want to get other people excited about the lifestyle offerings from Saucony. This is a nice thing to see though as it opens the door for more Originators to possibly take the place of influencers and I like that.

Subset’s friends of the family, Cloud and Brick, took us on a street art tour of Subset’s work around Dublin.

Their live music performance can be watched again around the 1:30 mark in the video above.
