American companies from appliance makers to auto parts suppliers have lined up to offer a quiet caution to President-elect Donald Trump as he considers pulling the United States from trade deals: most lost manufacturing jobs aren’t coming back, but higher costs for consumers could.
I’ve written extensively about TPP and even did videos. Whenever more articles show up that discuss it I am making sure to index them here so your dialogue will be more informed. This article is covering the same bases that have been covered. TPP being removed and trade agreements being altered will have the negative effect that the Trump administration thinks it will. Middle America should be focused on the increase of e-commerce and DTC. There should be a push for companies to build better warehousing and distribution systems because as far as manufacturing coming back, customers are not quite ready to sacrifice cost for jobs.
