When I was introduced to Clearweather last week it instantly reminded me of Cortica, but I failed to state that in the video or article. Last month the UK brand dropped their Fall/Winter collection and the brand although familiar in the style managed to deliver some surprisingly solid elements in this winter’s drops. My favorite in the collection is easily the Rapide in Burgundy.

New for Autumn/Winter is our updated Rapide KPU – our clean, minimalistic trainer has been transformed to take on the elements. Featuring a rubberised KPU skin fused directly onto the water repellent neoprene and built around a lightweight, articulated EVA sole unit. The KPU second skin is strategically built up in high abrasion areas, forming protection with flexibility and freedom of movement. Finished off with a reinforced TPU heel counter, rubber heel tab and branded tongue label.

At 66 dollars a pair Cortica should be finding a home here in the US, but I have yet to discover the brand. Import would naturally add some cost to the footwear, but the shoes should still come in at under 90 dollars and I personally think that the brand could perform very well in the current market. While the 66 dollar price point is not the standard and was in play for Black Friday the shoes can often be found at a cheaper price on the site. The retail price is regularly at 130 a pair which is still comparable to the shoes it’s vying to take market share away from the NMD and Huarache.

I know I’ve asked before, but what do you think of Cortica?
