What to Expect?
This won’t be one of my full blown analysis as I’ve done in the past. I’ve been working on the network and most of my time has gone there so I can’t be as detailed as I would like to be. Under Armour finally saw a loss and they reported in Q3 2017. It shook the shareholders to their foundation. Since then UA stock has been rebounding and moving up. I think the Q4 report will actually inspired more confidence in the brand as the Curry 4 has been an incredible product in footwear which is where the brand was having the most trouble. The Drive 4 has always been a solid performer. The growth in footwear will be flat which is good because UA couldn’t take another drop. Revenue will be down as the promotional environment continues for the brand. They have been promoting sales since last year via their ecommerce platform. The brand has increased their marketing spend, but not effectively, but as I wrote in my 2018 report on UA there is a lot of opportunity and if Plank can convey the potential the brand will stabilize and continue to see increased interest from investors.
