Instagram account holder and designer blkoutln put his genius to the test by creating what we could see happening in the near future, a possible collaboration between Virgin Abloh and Adidas.
Blkoutln created his own version of the Off white using a light bone pair of the Adidas ultra boost 3.0. The shoes have all the elements present in the Nike Off white collection: the zip tie, and orange tab on the quarter panel and instead of using the wording “Off White” , he opted for the phrase “Ultra Boost” on the midsole. Another highlighted aspect of the shoes are the personalized laces that bear the wording “shoe laces”. What do you guys think of these shoes?
These are ridiculously nice! I think it would be a mistake for Adidas to collab with Virgil using this particular look for several reasons. Given his interesting approach to branding and the lifespan/timeline of each, Adidas should already be picking his brain to see what he’s got in store after Off-White and lock in on that now. I guess the only major challenge there would be that it wouldn’t have the resounding effect of Off-White coming out the gate but given how each of his brands have done it’s a risk worth taking, especially for Adidas.
Abloh is working with Nike and I’m positive their is a non compete there considering he once worked with Kanye and they parted ways which is why Nike gave him his own line. Don’t expect an OW for adidas. Also I’m in the other part of the equation I think the Off White is wack, lol.
