This week I’m looking at two very different store openings. Nike took the time to open their very first door again. The original Nike store was a Blue Ribbon Sports Store operated by employee #1 Jeff Johnson: https://arch-usa.com/blue-ribbon-spor…
Foot Locker is opening Power Stores that will be a sort of community based store that offers events focused on a local people and functions. Both stores share the same idea of catering to the community. It’s an important approach for stores as shopping is moving towards a more personalized experience.
The problem is Foot Locker has a lot of flaws and high turnover in their stores. The Power Store could be more of a problem because it is much bigger and it’s hard enough to hire for smaller locations.
This is something to watch for the industry.
