I’ve been trying to stress the importance for brands to utilize a strategy I developed named Niche-Out. The concept is simple and while I developed this term, it’s understood by anyone who has worked in any industry, in order to grab marketshare, do one thing very well and focus on a smaller market where you can find opportunities.

When I discovered COMUNITYmade, it was long after I connected with LASCO who I covered on this site four years ago. The Los Angeles Shoe Company had created a big enough buzz in the industry with their Yeezy inspired made in the U.S. limited drop:

Dope S–t I Like: LASCO Golden Child

While the Golden Child from LASCO was a hit, it bypassed the groundwork needed to sustain beyond that moment. As opposed to taking a Niche-Out approach LASCO went big, but sneaker culture is a difficult egg to crack. I’m adamant about smaller brands staying true to their mission and having a mission. LASCO never really had a mission.

COMUNITYmade does and continues to develop their mission by conquering their region and partnering with people who are creating movements in their area. Nike and Under Armour may have golf products, but none of their shoes approach the quality of the made in the U.S. brand that has decided to focus on working with a local company to build a Los Angeles developed product for the more stylish golfer, who is also interested in supporting a worthy cause:

COMUNITYmade developed this model in collaboration with Nº33 founder Justin Eldridge to bring some flavor to golf and supreme comfort to your game.  Great brands bring out the best in each other and we are both committed to building community.

Pro skater and golfer Justin Eldridge launched Number 33 to give back. He joined forces with COMUNITYmade and they delivered the shoe pictured above. The team is now coming back to deliver two new colors in the collection and they will be hosting a Zoom interview. Keep scrolling for a sneak peak at the new colors:

Going outside and getting some fresh air might be difficult lately, especially if you are practicing social distancing very strictly. Golf, however, remains a really great way to get some exercise and enjoy the outdoors safely.

Looking for some new golfing shoes? Our last collaboration with The N°33 was such a success that we’re introducing not only one, but TWO new color ways to the line! They’ll be dropping NEXT WEDNESDAY (7/22), so keep your eyes peeled!

In the meantime, shop the COMUNITYmade x The N°33 golf shoe in its original color, burgundy, if you haven’t already!
