I wrote an article, The Inherent Issue with eBay’s Big Push to Recapture it’s Sneaker Soul, as a response to the marketing taking place by the e-Commerce giant. They have enlisted sneaker influencers big and small in North America and in other countries to recapture the share of the market that StockX has taken over the last 4 years. It’s not just StockX, but other marketplaces GOAT, Grailed, Poshmark and even the latest startup Tradeblock are all continuing to encroach on an area once owned by eBay.

Here is the post:

In that post, I stated I would attempt to utilize eBay to do an analysis of the issues with the platform. I said I would use Amazon, eBay and StockX to explain why and how each platform works in some instances and doesn’t work in others. This is the first video in the series. Now, listing on eBay with a new product without any issues, isn’t that difficult. Listing a lot of products requires that you use a desktop computer and when small things in the User Interface make that difficult, it leads to an abandoned post and a user looking to sell elsewhere.

I hope you enjoy it.
