The Ed Murphey Classic at Rhodes College was loaded with amazing track and field stars and allowed younger athletes to compete on the same bill as the athletes they admire. The beautiful campus of Rhodes did very little to stifle the heat on and off the track, but the event was seamless and allowed Memphis to participate in a much better version of the Puma American Track League. The league had previously placed their events behind a paywall on another video channel, but this season the highlights are streamed on YouTube and on NBC’s Peacock service. This event featured Olympians like Jasmine Camacho Quinn on the women’s side and Marvin Bracy Williams and Andre Degrasse on the men’s side.
