antepes was founded by Shah Behnamian after he experienced bone spurs. He set out to find a sneaker that would correct his running form and help him to become a forefoot striker. He found that most shoes are designed to support runners, but they aren’t specifically designed to improve forefoot landing. He launched antepes in 2020. It took three years to bring his trainer to market. The result is a sneaker that is more of a training tool than a running shoe.
I took the time to do an unboxing and training session with my daughter, don’t laugh, lol. I found that the sneaker does contribute to a lot of additional strain on the Achilles if you haven’t run in the shoe to build up the muscles. It does add a lot of tension to the muscles being used and I think it’s a very good tool for training in short bursts vs longer training runs. Check out the video below.
