I’ve worked extremely hard to earn my certifications to coach and train athletes in athletics. The next step is to build an indoor training facility to offset the lack of opportunities for regional athletes. With over 200+ high schools in the Memphis area, there are about 12 outdoor tracks and those are owned by public and private schools which severely limits usage. Liability causes issues with training and post graduate athletes and adults face blazing heat in the summer and freezing cold in the winter diminishing the ability to train consistently.

I’ve finally found my space to build the indoor training facility for track and high jump. With such an amazing year for track and field, it feels great to know that I’ll be contributing an opportunity for training in a city known for basketball primarily, but a city that’s also known for its unpredictable weather.

I’m writing this to ask you to provide financial assistance to offset my expenses. Leasing a warehouse is expensive and hoping to extend free training to athletes for the first year could break the bank. I’m assuming a ton of risk as the lease has to be two years minimum to get the price/sq/ft to a viable rate. This is not a money generating venture, it’s a community-oriented concept. Here is what your financial support will help to build:

Regupol’s Runway

I need to lay a spikeproof surface that’s 3200sqft: https://www.ontrackandfield.com/regupol-roll-out-runway/

European formula, made in the U.S.A. Polymerically bound rubber particles produce a runway that is fast and resilient. Regupol Runway is available in any length you specify.

  • No bonding necessary

  • Spike-resistant according to Otto-Graf Institute – 1/4″ spikes

  • The brand most popular with pole vault experts

That will cost around $6,000.

High Jump Pit

I also need to get the high jump landing system: https://www.ontrackandfield.com/landing-system-value-packages/

S1 High Jump Value Pack (16’6″ x 8′ x 26″) meets NFHS specifications. Value Pack includes: S1 High Jump Pit, S1 Weather Cover, S4 Standards, and an Essentials Crossbar. Weather Cover not shown in image.

That’s another $6-12,000.

The Measure Stick

Here’s a way to measure accurate heights in the pole vault and high jump without having to climb a ladder or onto the pit!

  • Measures performances from 4’9″ to 20’3″ in the pv and 3’3.5″ up to 8’8″ by 1/4 inches in the hj, both English & metric

  • Four telescoping aluminum segments extend from base

  • Features its own snap–on level

  • Ships in a water–resistant carry bag with shoulder strap

Any donation is greatly appreciated.
