Source: adidas Drops new Harden Vol. 1 Colorways for Summer
The Harden Volume 1 is actually a very nice sneaker. While performance footwear is still down overall, this is one of the styles that defies the common aesthetics of a hoops shoe. It’s a low cut shoe and it’s very fashionable. It also has BOOST, but still the Harden is not a big seller at retail and doesn’t have a lot of distribution. This is even a case where price isn’t an issue. At 140.00 the shoe comes in at a cheaper price than the NMD XR1 and the Ultra Boost.
Basketball shoes are notoriously confining due to the lockdown fit, but why is it that this shoe isn’t showing up on more feet?
It can’t be the colorways as the Cactus Kid version is closely related to the South Beach colorway used on LeBron’s shoes while he was in Miami. The all red gives adidas a bit of that Red October style, yet it will probably not make a lot of noise. As of today the shoe has been out for over 24 hours but is still available in a full size run on the adidas.com site. Interestingly enough though the Harden is actually doing well on adidas.com with several pair being sold out.
Hmmmm, maybe I’m wrong here. Maybe the Harden is outperforming expectations… It may not compare to the lifestyle running segment, but with a few tweaks in marketing adidas could probably reignite some interest in basketball. The Harden is definitely capable of transitioning from court to the street. Use the source link to see more pics of the latest summer drops from the Trefoil.
