I had someone contact me about how to open an account with a big brand. I explained it and then I told him that it doesn’t matter if you get an account, the market has changed. If you don’t have an incredible customer experience that offers more than just product, you are going to fail.
He didn’t quite get what I was saying. I told him that if your channels don’t align and you aren’t paying very close attention to how your e-commerce and brick and mortar appeal to the customer then creating the needed omni-channel experience would be missing. If you’re reading this then you are clearly getting what I’m saying. This Gameplan A website from adidas/Reebok is a one stop shop of content creation. adidas has combined training, interviews and influencers into one place where you can read all day and see their gear without adidas attempting to sell you on anything.
They have given you an insider’s look at sport and in doing so it establishes that adidas is trying to be like Wu Tang and do it for the Children. Seriously, this time placed into connecting consumer to athlete is not a waste of time. It’s the future of retail.
Check out this detailed interview with Kareem and you’ll get what I’m saying. I will be sharing articles from there often as they are very well written and thoughtful. Here is the link:
