http://www.housakicks.com gave me a Google Hangout call to ask me to do my Should You Buy To Flip, breakdown as a video interview. I thought it was a cool idea so I agreed. I’m adding my standard written breakdown here on the site. Subscribe to Housakicks on YouTube and you can click this link to subscribe to ARCH on YT.

Here is the breakdown, the video is below:

First check: I hit Flight Club first. Today is 8/31/2016. FC has the shoe up early at 275 and 300. Like always I automatically decrease the price because only FC gets FC prices. So if I was going to sell this shoe I would put the resell price at 50 dollars less the lowest price of 275. That’s 225.00. I’m giving this section a +2, but not really because 225 on a retail of 190 plus tax isn’t great. But maybe, just maybe this shoe will have a better price in section 2.

This is a new thing I’m adding to give a shoe a rating for resell. Since I do 3 checks before my decision I will weight them on a scale of 1-9. The max points on a scale = +3

Rating = +2

Second check: I then go to eBay and use the Sold Listings feature to check what early pairs are selling for. Right now the first few pairs that have sold over the last couple of days have an average price of 243. Since I have a FC price of 275 and an ebay average of 243 my average price is 259. I’m a bit more positive than I was in the video so I’m increasing the price point to 230. Which is better than I said in the video.

Rating = +2

Third check: Peep the Twitter feed is my final measuring stick. Except on certain shoes I will factor in the local market and check with my Insiders and see how many pairs are going to be coming in to certain stores. I checked with only two stores, but they are both getting more than 48 pair. This means the shoe is a serious general release. There should be more than enough pairs for those who want them. This hurts the overall rating and I’m only giving the third check a +1

Rating = +1

Should you buy to flip?

My total on a scale of 9 is a +5. That’s an average price. If you are paying retail for this shoe, you should be very careful because this is a shoe that will probably drop in value when it is released. Personally I wouldn’t buy to flip. If you’re a collector though you should win with this release. Watch the video and see my immediate response to analyze if I stayed true to my first thoughts.
