The Retro 12 has a strong year with Jordan Brand. The Flu Game and Cherry both have been consistent sellers on the after market and there are still pairs that are getting a lot of attention. Here is where the influence of an artist has generated interest more than the athlete that wore them. The 12 has become more coveted due to the OVO line that people keep waiting on. Actually, it is almost a waste of time to look into resale on a 12 isn’t it? An almost all black 12 though, has to be a good shoe for collector’s and flippers right? Let’s see.
Since I do 3 checks before my decision I will weight them on a scale of 1-9. The max points on a scale = +3
First check: I hit Flight Club first. Today is 9/23/2016. FC doesn’t have the Wool. They do have the Master, Flu Game, Cherry, French Blue and others. Every pair of retro 12s remains above retail and pairs like the PSNY are almost double their retail price. Using my first measuring stick it becomes obvious that this shoe will resale for above retail, but the sticker price is actually 200 per pair on this shoe. That’s about 215-220 with taxes. If the average resale on styles not named OVO or PSNY is 300 and you buy at retail, that makes this a bit suspect doesn’t it? Right now I give my FC rating…

Second check: My eBay check a week early is always irritating to me. Who got them early? Are they legit? it’s getting hard to tell. The Wool is already up and rolling on the Bay. What I noticed this time in the pics is that the shoe isn’t really black, it’s a dark heather grey. When a shoe is on eBay early odds are they aren’t legit, they are stolen, or just an account trying to get off of pairs early… Whatever the deal is the resale price on this shoe just took a major hit. The average price on the first few sold early are: 250 + 285 + 250=261. This is in the last couple of days. Prior to the 22nd the shoe was going for 280-320 on and around the 18th. So what happened? Are people realizing that the shoe is not as dark? Is the shoe really a GR with a lot of pairs? What is the deal? With an average price of 261.00 in resale, and a purchase price of 215.00 my second check is not as optimistic. Blame Obama.
Rating = +1
Third check: My third check is usually with the stores or on Twitter. I thought these were dropping on the 8th, but Jordan Brand has played the switch with us and reversed the release of the 12 and 1 so the 12 drops on the first and the 1 on the 8th. Whatever the drop date, that second check has me worried and when I do my Twitter feed check, which should be Instagram, but it’s hard to gauge using the Gram, I don’t get a very good amount of feedback. It’s Yeezy season and right now, two weeks away no one is checking that hard for the 12. As a matter of fact Pre-Order links range from 199 to 239.00. Unless these pre-orders are accounts or from Nike Employee, there is zero hype on the Wools.

Should you buy to flip?
My total on a scale of 9 is a +5. That is an average resale total. If you want these to rock and you are paying retail, then rock them. With a +5 I wouldn’t suggest that this be a shoe that you pursue for flipping. Honestly even if it were selling for 300 a pair, it might be a rough deal. Purchase price 218 + eBay/Amazon fees at 39 + Free Shipping 15 = 272.00. If you factor in your gas, time standing in line and ignorant driver fees if you live in Memphis… You earn 28 bucks. You could have gotten a pair of Puma Suedes for 19.99 on sale and flipped them at 59.99 free shipping and your life would be a lot easier. My advice, hell naw, to the naw, naw, naw. Pass. More pics:
