The Jordan 2 was the beginning of luxury for Nike. The shoe featured a premium build and looked like nothing ever created for basketball. The made in Italy design removed the overt bold Swoosh in favor of a minimalist approach. This retro version was supposed to celebrate Black History Month. Instead the lazy design led to this version sitting on shelves. Instead of looking closely at this model, I went on a rant about how cool colors and kente prints aren’t enough to drive interest. Nike and Jordan Brand missed the target with this release.
