Onitsuka Admix Runner is one part trail, one part fashion, one part skate and dad shoe remixed.
ASICS treats its international market with more favor than the U.S. and understandably so. When the DOJO pack dropped I was excited, but the shoe has languished on shelves partly because the sales lead at stores honestly didn’t know what the shoe was, but mainly because ASICS, like all brands, simply drop kicks and push towards the sneaker audience only assuming that the story will trickle down.
ASICS and Footlocker Almost Nail the Launch of the ‘Welcome To The Dojo’ Pack
ASICS Onitsuka is at the mercy of the retailer and this has caused the brand to falter in certain regions of North America. That doesn’t mean the brand isn’t putting in work. This Admix Runner is one of the first dad shoe trend sneakers I’ve seen where I was put on pause and wanted to find out more. Below is a description of the shoe, but what is interesting to me is that unless I order this model online I will never be able to try it on and get an up close and personal look at the model.
That’s a problem that has to be fixed for a number of reasons.
With a “cut & paste” concept, the uppers were put together to embody the essence of the Onitsuka Tiger archives, with a design that makes it look as though one shoe is placed on top of another in this unusual look. This new entry is completely original, just like a swath of history was cut and pasted on top of it.
