The Brandblack is obviously a lifestyle model, but the shoe is rooted in serious outdoor footwear tech. The Nomo utilizes a Vibram designed & engineered technical running midsole, high traction rubber outsole with internal shank for mid-foot support, breathable spacer mesh underlays and full grain leather / suede overlays. The technical TPU heel brace for added support and protection gives the shoe a smaller fit and you should definitely size up half a size, but the look and feel of the shoe is unlike any brand I currently have in my closet. I have to think that I would have to shift to Nike ACG for something comparable in a mainstream brand and I would have to look at outdoor companies for a consistent comparison.
