Brooks hosted a Facebook Livestream today to introduce people to their new neutral running shoe The Revel. This is the first shoe to feature flat knit technology from the brand.

Most brands have created shoes in both lifestyle and performance featuring their versions of “knit” technology. Brooks is entering the game late, but it makes perfect sense as the trend right now is shifting more towards style over performance and while Brooks Running shoes are known for their ability to perform, they aren’t really an option for transitioning to a casual day out.

FRESH LOOK: The flat-knit upper’s sleek silhouette delivers a look and feel that works beyond your run.

COMFORTABLE FIT: The shoe’s internal bootie is designed to surround your foot in all-day comfort.

SOFT CUSHIONING: BioMoGo DNA midsole dynamically adapts to your stride for just-right softness underfoot.

The homepage of the site features a woman athlete which is also a move that captures where every brand is trying to land. This may be one of the least technical and stylish performance models Brooks has ever delivered. They made a mistake in their Facebook livestream by presenting us with an all black version of the shoe that lacked details. Had they utilized this “oreo” themed version below the feedback would have been through the roof. It’s a great looking shoe and definitely captures the substance and style the brand is going for.

Brooks Men's Revel Running Shoe

The most important aspect here is that the Revel checks in at only 100.00 dollars!  The shoe was revealed early in 2017 but the brand is making sure to reach out a lot more than usual with this release and rightfully so. This may be one of the first shoes that can actually crossover in this “oreo” themed colorway. Unfortunately, the reviews that are on YouTube are corny asf which is not going to do much at all to raise the profile of what I think is definitely a shoe that has potential.
