The Air Jordan 1, adidas Forum, New Balance 550, Puma Slipstream, and now the Clarks Desert Run? A few years ago, Clarks dropped the Sandford which I labeled as their version of the Air Force 1. I picked up a pair and it became my sneaker for all of fall and winter. The suede was rough enough to look like a Timberland and the design immediately brought to mind the Flax Uptown. This time Clarks took the basketball court shoe concept and delivered a design which feels like it’s one part Dunk and one part Jordan 1. Right now the sneaker is only listed in women’s sizing, but as the fall weather seems as if it is going to arrive a lot sooner this year, if they drop the men’s and play around with some unique, but interesting colors (blue and cream) you can bet, this sneaker takes some of the attention from the kicks it draws inspiration from.
