Typically I lead with product and then an analysis, but I’ve written several posts on Clearweather. The brand is based in Santa Ana like another fashion forward label, BrandBlack. This makes me wonder if I should take the time to do a deeper dive and see if there is a connection. BrandBlack recently relaunched their site and they are in the midst of continuing to make it over. It’s probably just a coincidence… I’ve definitely taken an interest in Clearweather and so far I’ve done about 4 posts. I have yet to buy a pair, but there is a reason for that. In the post below I have a video where I visited the only location in Memphis carrying the brand and the shoes run very small so I couldn’t buy the pair I wanted and now that pair is out of stock in size 14. I’m a 13, but I was able to try on a 13 in a different model and it was too small. Here is the original post:

This post is a quick analysis of how the Brothers Brubaker have redesigned their website to create a much more streamlined site that leads with their narrative on the homepage below the fold. Why is this important? While the brand was able to land collabs with Project, Paterson and Barneys they are still relatively unknown. This means that working with influencers is an expense that could actually hurt. The real story lies in the fact that these brothers are attempting to do the impossible and leading with an introduction to them on the home page is a better builder of brand than any influencer they could sign.
They’ve also redesigned the presentation of the logo. In the header the style is familiar and clearly shows who the brand is targeting and it’s my belief that they have the product mix, although it’s limited, to begin gaining ground. They also have a very nice e-mail sign up list that allows you to play a “Wheel of Fortune” styled game to earn a potential deal on your first pair. I’ve already signed up for the list so my recommendation is that they make the sign up optional and still provide you the chance to earn a deal. It would create more engagement. Overall I love it when a brand takes the time to improve the things they can control and it helps when the kicks are dope. Take a minute to check out Clearweather and support a smaller brand than usual.
