The Converse x Dr. Woo collection releases January 20 on converse.com and at select retailers.

I have to admit that I could have easily just written that Converse is dropping a Dr. Woo collab on the Chuck and it would have been a narrative of an LA artist dropping a collab that is an essential LA shoe. The problem is by the time I finished reading the post the only thing I could remember was that this intricately designed shoe is dropping in limited, signed quantities today:
To celebrate his collaboration with Converse, Dr. Woo has personally tattooed, signed and numbered a hyper-limited edition of leather Chuck 70s. The custom pairs will retail for $1095.00 exclusively at a private event at Maxfield on the evening of January, 17, 2018.
While the shoe will drop in at a retail price on January 20th the Maxfield drop is always going to be on the high end as the location is on Melrose and the shop is curated like a museum as opposed to a boutique. The Dr. Woo Converse 70 features the story of the spider and the fly and is built to take on a patina over the course of wearing the shoe. This is a design that is meant to be creative and custom through your use. That’s a concept that will undoubtedly become more of the norm as sneaker dollars are competing with so many other forms of spending that brands are going to have to go above and beyond to grasp the hearts and pocket change of their fans. Use the source link at the top to read more of why and how this collab came into existence.
