The Recess Runner is Corridor’s first sneaker, designed in-house and made in Portugal. The concept behind the shoe was to make a classic sneaker the first go-round – a shoe that could live in 1973, 1993 and today.

The Manual did an amazing post on Dan Snyder back in 2018. I am just running across it now, but you need to read this:

It’s as good a post about the designer than I could create. My goal is to make sure I spend time introducing my audience to new sneaker companies. Like most of the companies I’ve been posting about during the quarantine, I ran across Corridor while browsing on social media. I’m sure I would have seen it eventually as I’ve really begun to dig into brands made by designers who create quality, carefully crafted apparel.

The Recess Runner is a classic trainer silhouette that has a minimalist approach in branding and the basic monotone flavors cater to my simple, elegant style. My color palette consists of olives, greys and blues. I do get a bit adventurous with shirt choices and what I like most about this brand is that I can actually shop apparel and create a style from head to toe:

The apparel is responsibly sourced:

Responsibility: What does responsibility mean? People talk a lot about transparency and sustainability. I think the sum is responsibility. For Corridor, this means that we actually work in the factory with the tailors every season to create the garments and ensure the workshops are environmentally certified (ISO 9001) and socially accountable (SA 8000). You can feel good knowing where and how the garment was made.

What I’m waiting for is a brand that places a layer of cloth in the armpit because I’m not a fan of t-shirts under my clothing. Maybe Dan will catch wind of this share and begin to implement a design doing this. If he doesn’t I’m still going to go head to toe once this quarantine is over.
