I’ve been a professional artist for the past 12 years. Prior to that I designed sneakers for PUMA and worked in and around agencies related to Apple and fashion products. My work revolves anything and everything pop-culture specifically, fashion, art, music, and sports.
If you caught the reference in the title, you belong here. If you didn’t, keep reading and you will belong.
Since 2013 I’ve been working on a business plan for an art gallery centered around sneakers, sports and music. A quick scroll thought the art section of this site finds obscure and prominent artists I plan to carry in the arch Gallery. The problem is, I’ve been discovering the art, but between the act of living, running an ever-changing business and being a family man (all excuses, it’s fear), I haven’t taken the plunge. Which is unfortunate because I continue to run across artists perfect for the concept.
“Love Me in the Summer” (2024) Limited Edition Print
The image above is what drew me to the work of Kyle Mosher. Whenever an artist is from sneaker culture, there is an immediate appeal; but the print above, titled “Love Me in the Summer” landed for a peculiar reason. There are albums I resort to when I feel like I need to be hustling a bit harder. Pusha T’s “It’s Almost Dry” features the track Diet Coke.
As with most of Push’s discography the thematic element of the verses here references the dope game. The line, “You ordered Diet Coke, that’s a joke right?” is the repetitious refrain. When I saw Mosher’s “Love” I could see and hear the moment in an art gallery when a visitor steps in front of the art. In this gallery each image is accompanied by music which only plays when someone moves near the picture. I was listening to King Push and Kyle Mosher was the visual.
“BMW 2002 Turbo” (2024) Fine Art Print
Kyle’s artwork visually sits alongside artists like KAWS, but his primary method is listed as cut and collage. These digital images throughout are perfectly aligned with the mental image of my art gallery and as long as I keep the dream alive, I’ll continue to share work from artists I hope to one day contact and ask, “May I display your work?” Use the links throughout to visit Kyle’s page and snatch a giclee for yourself. On the image above, the song playing would be Frank Ocean’s “Swim Good”, IYKYK.
