No one is talking about it. There aren’t many articles around that are addressing this shoe. The shoe seemingly popped out of thin air. On December 9, 2016 the shoe showed up on Footlocker.com and then random articles appeared about it on sneakerhead sites. A video was dropped on YouTube and on SNKRS the shoe sold out twice.

If you look on sneakerhead sites, it’s not being connected to the future. While a lot of the hype over the Hyperadapt self lacing shoe was expected no one really understood what Nike had done. Adidas had been giving Nike the business with its UltraBoost and NMD and the Huarache and Flyknit Racer wasn’t really capturing the market the way they had so in what seemed like a one month span Nike Lunarcharge was born. I mean think about this there is zero mention or appearance of the Lunarcharge at the end of November on SNKRS The shoe showed up after Cyber Monday on SNKRS and was released on the 9th of December.

2 weeks… 2 weeks is all it took and a new silo was born. It hasn’t disrupted Adidas runners, but the fact that it took 2 weeks to birth a concept which had to have been created here since it takes to two weeks to get a shoe shipped and landed in the states, sometimes longer. Then on Tuesday’s Fiscal 2017 conference call Matt Parker states that they are scaling “Express Lane”.

There still aren’t many articles online discussing the value, but the possibility of a brand as big as Nike going from concept to product in less than a month is insane. Keep an ear to the ground because every brand is working on this, Under Armour and Adidas are both building factories to introduce faster production of concepts.

2017 is going to be very interesting.

  1. Nike is being very careful with this model. Remember the “Roshe”. They are being careful who they allocate this sneaker to. For example, a selected few boutiques, SNKRS, and Footlocker got this shoe. Yes it sold out, but that is deceiving because how many pairs where really released into the market? Adidas currently has its arms wrapped around the running/lifestyle market. Not only are Boost shoes comfortable, but there are fashionable.

    1. Thanks for reading and responding. Remember this article isn’t about the sale of the shoe. This is about Express Lane and why no other websites are talking about this shoe and the Express Lane concept from Nike. Check out this: http://www.arch-usa.com/nike-gets-content-creation-odell-beckham-jr-s-custom-home-field-advantage-cleats/ It’s not that Nike is being careful it was an Express Lane model (I think, but I may be wrong). If it is Express Lane think about how fast Nike can get shoes to the market. Also when I say sold out, I’m talking NDC and SNKRS. They have restocked twice. Think about the margins on that shoe for Nike. I never write on the site about just resale, I want sneakerheads to be so informed that when people say we don’t know shit, we can prove them wrong. So look at the speed to market and Express Lane. The actual shoe isn’t important, but how it was released and created is. Thanks again and check out more articles as well as share the site.
