Filling Pieces “The Shuttle Capsule”

Dropping today at www.fillingpieces.com, Filling Pieces introduces the Shuttle Capsule Collection – the second release from their Spring Summer 2019 collection series. Originating from the idea of creating a lighter weight shoe and taking inspiration from the tennis world, the Shuttle sneaker comes equipped with contemporary oversized proportions, a balanced lightweight performance sole, and was completely custom designed in Amsterdam at the Filling Pieces design studio.

The Shuttle Capsule Collection allows designers to explore innovative designs irrespective of the current campaign theme for Spring Summer 2019 titled “The Age of Imagination.” Traditionally chunky sole units add a lot of weight to the shoe, but Filling Pieces turned to innovative Italian sole technology – Livetech – to create a fashion-forward aesthetic with the wearability of an athletic sneaker. The Shuttle sole unit is made from a blend of EVA rubber for added cushioning and unparalleled levels of comfort, with increased flexibility and weight reductions through a drilled and laser etched tread pattern.

The Shuttle Capsule exists out of three silhouettes – the Low Meno Shuttle Ixion, the Low Orion Shuttle Trition, and the Porta Shuttle Fornax all with their own distinct uppers.

The uppers of the Ixion references a nostalgic piece of footwear from the collection of creative director Guillaume Philibert, that dates back to the 2000s. Based on a more organic shaped upper with a shortened toe cap, this silhouette features minimalist design lines and materials. The shoe comes in all white and two-tone colorways.
