Footlocker’s Greenhouse is an incubator that will provide an introduction to small brands and artists who are looking to reach people interested in supporting indie fashion labels that won’t be covered on the major sneaker and streetwear websites.
The problem is the App launched on September 17th, 2019 with the founder of PSNY which isn’t exactly a small, indie brand. PSNY already has considerable success with brands as large as Nike and the label has even presented at NYFW. If Footlocker is going to begin the launch with established indie labels and artists it could send a signal to smaller brands that they aren’t really the focus.
This could be an incredible addition to Footlocker’s private label and their counter to the continued growth by brands entering DTC waters.
