Gourmet NFN is a brand that defies categorization. American-Italian style. High-end for the regular guy.

Okay, I have to be honest here. In 2005 I was building up Sho-Shot and running crazy basketball camps. I was still checking for different brands, but my primary goal was to create videos for players and get them scholarships. I saw Gourmet online and I immediately said, “There is no way in hell these dudes are going to be around by making stripped down versions of Jordan retros.” It’s 2015. Sho-Shot is gone, I no longer run the basketball website and Gourmet is clicking with accounts at major sneaker boutiques and they are done with the gateway drugs of remastered (way before Jordan Brand decided to remaster) retros.

I look to Gourmet for inspiration on a number of things. I dig their ability to remain consistent on pricing. What many see as overpricing is actually very competitive when you analyze the size of the company and materials used. I look to them for their approach to fashion. Gourmet in its presentation looks like a luxury house; ie: Gucci, Versace, etc. This presentation is what gives the buyer the feeling that they are a part of something that has class and is more than just another shoe that everyone will be rocking.

While the shoes are no longer carried in Memphis, which is more a thing with Memphis than Gourmet, we are a Nike city with more employees for Nike here than anywhere in the country, I still think they are a brand you should get to know. Take a few to visit the site and let me know what you think. http://gourmetfootwear.com/
