One of the dopest aspects of introducing myself to my competitors, really they aren’t since they are actually a lot more successful than I am already, is that I get to analyze pricing strategies and see what makes a brand valued.

Today I’m introducing you to Generic Surplus. This is a name that is somewhat redundant when you place a little thought into it. I mean more than likely anything that is “generic” will have a surplus right?

Not exactly, the generic here is used in the treatment of style. Simplicity is the key to a successful wardrobe. All great business people seem to live by this. If you wear a Black turtleneck, you’re imitating Steve Jobs. Grab a hoodie and you’re trying to be Zuckerberg. I mean if these guys who made tons of money, but only where certain things keep it simple, then shouldn’t you?

No, No and No.

While Generic Surplus doesn’t spend a lot of time on creating outrageously loud sneakers that standout and scream for attention, it’s their subtle approach to style that I like.
