Coming out on Saturday May 27 are the Air Jordan 11 low barons; they were inspired by the Birmingham Barons, a minor league baseball team MJ played with during his premature retirement. They come in a black nubuck upper with ash grey patent leather overlays on the toe box and panels. Fakes have been on the market for quite some time now but I was waiting for legitimate images prior to doing a comparison; here is how to spot the replicas:
If you look at the yellow arrows, you’ll notice how the stitching is off on the fakes- the stitching is supposed to be adjacent to the nylon lace holes extensions. On the fakes, the stitching is about a quarter of an inch away from the lace holes extensions.
If you look at the arrow pointing down, you’ll notice that the patent leather cut on the fakes is low; moreover the jumpmen do not look the same and the “#23” on the back tab extends further down on the authentic pair.
Now on this other pair of fakes that I saw, the patent leather cut was very high which basically made jumpman adjacent to the edge of the cut and the edge of the back tab.If you look at the authentic pair, the cut forms a steep “V” shape but on the fakes, the “V” isn’t very steep.
