At least the Liberty stopped one person on the Vegas roster from scoring… A’ja led the Aces in scoring with 25, but when a team delivers 71 points in the first half and the other team scores 71 for the game, it’s hard to find a positive. The irony, the Liberty had seemingly figured out the Aces on Tuesday dropping their own 70 piece in the second half. In the Tuesday night outing with these two squads Sabrina dropped 27. Last night, the Aces shot a team leading 48.1% from three and held Ionescu to 12% shooting.

Phoenix avoided the two-game slide with Skylar Diggins almost notching a double up with 20 pts and 9 assists, but the strange thing for the Mercury was how they won this game against the Mystic. Only the starters scored, and Brianna Turner’s 31 minutes played was more than the non-starters total minutes combined. DT outplayed Delle Donne with a game leading 29 pts to 19 as the Mystics came down from a run and gun affair against the Sparks on Tuesday.

Minnesota 87
Anytime number 24 shows up and drops 32 it had to be a magical game. Arike darted in and out of the Lynx defense dropping 32 pts, 5 dimes and a team leading 3 steals. Adding 6 rebounds the stat stuffing was needed as the game was a tale of two halves. The underdog Lynx clamped down on D in the 3rd quarter and scored a 30 to 14, led by Rachel Banham’s 24 pts and by the OG Sylvia Fowles who showed her squad what Lynx basketball should be by pulling down 17 boards and doubling up with 20 buckets. This would have been the performance of the night, but Arike waved a finger and said, “no, no, no.”
Chicago 80
Sparks 68
Nineka and Chiney’s initials NC stood for Not even Close as the league leading Sky slowed the Sparks down. NC could also stand for Not Candace in this one. Parker gave her former team a gift by going 0-11 from the floor. Yep, 0-11. The Sky was led by Rebekah Gardner’s game leading 18 pts and 10 rebounds. Nineka and Chiney did lead the Sparks with 16 and 14 pts respectively and Chiney’s double-double came in a losing effort to drop the Sparks to 10-14.
