Lynx 87
Fever 77
K-Mac played like 11 in the Upside Down of Hawkins against a Fever squad who needed Stranger Things to stop the inside outside dominance of Sylvia Kayla McBride. On the second night of a back-to-back the Lynx needed a W to reach double figures in wins on the season and Kayla didn’t disappoint. Dropping a game high 28 pts shooting 57.1% from Hawkins High, McBride’s performance was loud, but Sylvia Fowles continued a machine-like dominance with another double-double of 22 pts and 12 rebs. Kelsey Mitchell and Victoria Vivens were frozen in Vecna’s trance combining for a frigid 2-13 from 3. Tiffany Mitchell came off the bench rocking headphones and running up the hill to lead the Fever with 18, and Nalyssa almost had a double double, but it wasn’t enough as the Lynx escaped Hawkins leaving the Fever (and those dope ass jerseys) at the bottom of the standings.
Sun 93
Dream 68
No Rhyne, no run, just blinding Connecticut Sun. Without the rook in the line-up the Dream took their name to heart sleeping through the night, never hitting 20 points in any quarter. Rhyne Howard’s missing 14 pts per game was the difference, but with the Sun in a race for the number 1 spot, the fact that they drove into Atlanta like the new DA is rolling through YSL with RICO charges (too soon?), Howard probably wouldn’t have slowed rays of the Sun. Jonquel Jones did her best Kid Dy-no-mite impression leading a balanced attack from the Sun with 21 pts and 6 rebounds. What was more impressive from Connecticut almost every player had an assist. The only Sun player to miss out was the other JJ, Jazmine Jones.
