Is it possible to make a 100 dollar sneakerboot that captures the classic retro vibe of suede trainers and is rugged enough for light work on the trails? I didn’t think so, but I’ve been wearing the Alpine for about a month now and my only complaint is that it isn’t as stable as I’d like, but the shoe looks incredible. The model doesn’t have any weight at all and the nylon collar pulls tight without cutting into my leg. While it doesn’t show up on sneakerhead sites, the model actually turns heads when styled correctly. It’s a nice job from Merrell who continues to impress me with select styles from the site.
