The more rugged Utility Air Force 1 features a few useful upgrades and a few questionable additions. The shoe retains its overall shape of course, but a scuff tech toe box is added, which makes sense, but the lacing system has been replaced by an elastic band, magnetic clasp lockdown system (which works now that I think about it). The tongue has been made taller and wider which is functional, but the heel has a wide woven ribbon with a TPU loop that does make it easier to slip on, but doesn’t really serve any other purpose. They do look good and the subtle style cues, a new tongue tag and the Swoosh on the lateral side being placed on the strap as opposed to the actual shoe is eye catching.
