When Nike introduced the 270 cushioning system last year and began rolling out the Max Air 270 they also dropped the Force 270; a lifestyle design based on classic basketball silhouettes. The shoe was awkward at first glance but the shoe sold fairly well initially. The sales slowed down and you can find those models on the shelves at a discount in several colors. This fall as the Force 270 enters its first winter Nike updates the exterior with a more rugged look and it really works. The shoe looks capable of handling rain or snow until you reach the outsole which didn’t change at all. This model doesn’t look bad, but it is an incomplete concept and a sign that Nike is producing shoes without consideration for the accounts who have to carry the products.
