Brooks ReStart is a new platform helping gently used shoes stay on the run as long as possible. It’s just one part of Brooks’ effort to protect the planet we run on.
Running is easily the fastest method to begin a fitness journey. Unfortunately, most people jump into the waters with the shoes they have in the house. There isn’t anything wrong with that, but those sneakers could lead to injury because they may not be exactly what a new athlete should be using.
When I played college basketball, one of the best things I discovered was the used section at the Runner’s Warehouse. I could try a different sneaker every few months at the fraction of the price. Runners who had taken some sneakers on a test run but didn’t like the fit could return the sneaker and get some money back although the sneakers were no longer new.
Used sneaker sections are not as prominent in mainstream retail locations and unless you have a specialty running store in your city odds are buying a new pair of trainers is an expensive and daunting task. Recently sneaker media has been going crazy over Nike’s new Refurbished website.
I’m going crazy over Brooks’ ReStart site. When combined with the Shoe Finder section Find the Perfect Running Shoe: Running Shoe Finder | Brooks Running, new runners can browse a host of styles from super technical to neutral trainers for beginners. I wanted to highlight the program here and share for posterity.
