Anyone who knows me realize that Pharoahe Monch has long been in rotation for me. His albums easily rank in the top ten of my favorite albums of all time. When someone raises the argument of the top emcees I always, always state that when it comes down to it Black Thought and Pharoahe Monch stand above the entire room of emcees including Nas and Rakim… I also place Scarface in that echelon. Enough of that… Monch’s biggest song doesn’t even earn him any money because of a dumb ass Godzilla sample, smh. So this first run at indepence for the emcee makes perfect sense and to do it with MOP’s Lil Fame just raises the ante. pun intended
