Source: Active Gaming: PUMA and PLAYSEAT revolutionized seating – PUMA CATch up
My initial response was, uh, okay, and then I stopped and realized not less than two months ago, my wife bought my son a new gaming chair. She searched all over for a seat that would be comfortable and it would allow him to rock back and forth as he’s broken several chairs when he gets way into his games. My son is 6-4, but doesn’t play basketball. He’s an amazing guitar player and makes a serious effort to rescore movies as well as the games he plays. The kid will literally sit in his chair for hours recreating music for cut scenes in video games. During this process he’s moving between his drum set, keyboard and guitars. His wooden chair at his desk doesn’t work at all and the chair my wife eventually bought is too low to the ground.
The video above is one of his rescores. I think it’s an interesting approach for a kid who looks like an athlete, but doesn’t play a traditional sport. His workout comes in the process of the extensive amount of practices he has with the Stax Music Academy. His downtime is all music and video games which brings me back to Puma’s collaboration with Playseat:
This doesn’t feel like a natural fit for Puma, but when I say that it took months for my wife to find a chair that a 6-4 gamer could be comfortable in, I immediately see the benefit in Puma aligning with Playseat to create this chair. I only wish that the brand did a better job of promoting it so that we could have grabbed the chair for our son. Then again, the chair doesn’t drop until November so maybe we will be picking up a Puma x Playseat chair. What do you think about this collab?
