Again with the 2s and again with my side eye in regard to the 2s. There is a difference this time though. Jordan is actually dropping a pack and it doesn’t cost 500 bones! That is great news for the reselling crew as there is room in each shoe to actually turn a profit. The question is will anyone care? Especially a week before 4th of July and with so many great kicks sitting on shelves to keep you D Boy fresh for fireworks?
The Decon 2 was more successful than I thought because of the limited release which means that I don’t have to assume that this shoe won’t pop because it’s a 2, but how will people feel about the Converse Fastbreak? We all know by now that Retro is in and if we took the Jordan at 190 and the Fastbreak at 110 we have a solid pricing structure, but add in a Wings logo on the insold of the Converse and there is something unique here. Throw Carolina Blue on the heel tab of the 2 and there is something off, but unique here. Will it work?
*** I’ve been neglecting to say that I’m writing these for those people who don’t have a hookup or discount.
Since I do 3 checks before my decision I will weight them on a scale of 1-9. The max points on a scale = +3
*** New addition to the rating system: Tier 1: 0-25% = +1 Tier 2: 26-55% = +2 Tier 3: 56% and up is +3
First check: My first check is always with Flight Club. On 6-17-2017 the Pack does not show up. This does not surprise me as Housakicks yesterday wrote a blistering report on how he thinks that consignment shops are dying.
Rating = N/A
Second check: Let’s jump into the eBay Check. 6-17-2017 There are currently 21 listings when I search for Jordan x Converse, but only 7 actual listings for the shoe. This actually reaffirms what the Tayib was stating. People are relying more on eBay and other outlets to try and sell their product. The shoes are also listed on StockX, but this is the eBay check. Currently one person has watchers on their pack and there has only been one pack sold at a Best Offer on the 550 in a size 10. So let’s look at the average potential resale value of the pack.
Retail: $300.00 plus tax $330.00
Average Price Listed
359.99 + 449.99 + 550.00 + 475.00 = 1834.98/4 = 458.75
458.75 – 330.00 = 128.75
Fees and Shipping
458.75 * .13 = 59.64 + 19.00 = 78.64 Shipping (This box will have to be double boxed with insurance.
Total Net
128.75 – 78.64 = 50.11 15% ROI Um, this pack may have room but according to the eBay check the ROI is actually a Tier 1 and that’s not strong.
Rating = +1
Third check: My final check is StockX and the results are very underwhelming, but this problem with StockX is a prime opportunity for disruption. The fact that StockX lacks a minimum bid option I think will hurt the company in the long run. There are pairs listed on the platform, but the bids are terrible. I mean absolutely terrible.
Rating = +1
My final ruling: 2 out of 6… Upon initial inspection the 300 dollar price would lead you to think that there will be some room in this shoe, but looking at it closely, the ROI is there, but at a Tier 1 and the fact that it won’t be a GR and will be hard to get, will it be worth your time to track these down? I don’t think so and this means I would say don’t do it.
