New Balance has been doing a solid job of rolling out product lately. Even with my constant harping on how the basketball division isn’t doing the things I’d like them to do, the footwear being designed is unique and and different than what you’d expect from the N. I’ve discussed both Test Run 1.0 and 2.0 and each time I’ve found that the shoes were on trend and well crafted.

New Balance Test Run PRJ 2.0 Allows for a Quick Look at my “Patient Buyer” Theory

This time around the shoe is forward thinking and ahead of the curve. The PRJ 3.0 is a shoe that is attempting to utilize the circular concept to be a more sustainable model:

Reducing waste is a priority for us, and the men’s Test Run Project 3.0 is the ultimate use of our leftovers. Surplus materials are what remains after we’ve made all of our production runs and the season is over. We’ve taken some of the waste and turned it into a limited-edition Test Run project, preventing disposal of some of this stock. Because we are using extra supplies, no two pairs of TRP3 shoes are identical. Where surplus materials were not available, we made every effort to use at least partial recycled or reused content.

New Balance Enters Chunky Outsole Market With the PRJ 1.0 a Performance Model

The first Test Run dropped in 2018 and with each release the shoes have become bolder and more adventurous. New Balance has also become bolder and more adventurous.

The PRJ 3.0 utilizes recycled materials and is also crafted in a manner that is as close to Bespoke as any mass produced shoe can be finds itself in a position to celebrated.  No two pairs of this PRJ 3.0 are the same. At a time when the sneaker world is preparing to go crazy over the Air Jordan 11 Retro Bred, a shoe that has been released over and over, New Balance during the holiday season decided to craft a shoe that when you wear it, no one else will be able to say they have the exact same model…

That’s dope asf, and a bit better for the carbon footprint of the world.
