#12 adidas Originals X Pharrell NMD HU Trail Pack

To say the NMD was overproduced this year is an understatement. Today I’m less excited about the shoe than I’ve ever been. The recent releases all led me to create a post on the lack of toebox design elements in adidas shoes and this eventually led to an article where I said that the Prophere suffers from a lack of a toebox and this design flaw has hurt adidas. Every shoe is beginning to look the same. The choice of the Pharrell NMD Cloud/Moon Black was a tough one, but I had to move my bias to the side and realize that Pharrell actually takes a lot of consideration in personalizing his drops. He tends to focus on elements of nature or empowering design cues that uplift people. The Trail series was about the importance of the connection between man and nature, and like the Arthur Ashe Harden the black/white colorway is simple and clean. I was actually torn between the multi-color Body/Earth and the Cloud/Moon, but simplicity won out. At 250 it’s not cheap, but that’s because it’s extremely limited which is unfortunate. It’s one of the few shoes that adidas could make that would sell even as a GR.
