The top ranked athlete wears what brand? Before you click through I challenge you to write your top 5 athletes down just to see where your idea of marketability lies. I know I was pretty much wrong for the top 5. I only got 2 right and that’s stretching the truth a bit because I have seen the list I’m cheating. Seriously though it’s interesting that marketability overall is a lot different than those of us who are in the sneaker culture think would push more athletic products.
Marketability for sneakerheads automatically associates us to sports that we think shape footwear sales. That means if you’re like me you go straight to basketball and … well basketball. My top 5 looked like a signature shoe list and the funny thing is in the top 10 of the most marketable athletes only one person has a signature shoe.
