As the spring and summer weather begins to settle in the battle for comfort and style is heating up. I know that I posted on the Reveal a few weeks ago. I thought is was a very clean shoe that was right on trend. The only issue I had was with the logo placement and style. I preferred a more hidden embroidered or debossed look.
Interestingly enough shoes take time to develop, but it seems that New Balance also thought a more hidden approach was required. Take a look at their new Fresh Foam Cruz. Priced at 79.99 the shoe is sleek, lightweight, stylish and comfortable. It features a sock like construction and the only reason it’s not on par with the Threadborne Reveal is because of… Threadborne. The knit fabric places the Reveal slightly higher in price… Actually UA also used nubuck suede. At 119 though the value shopper might choose the Cruz, but take a look again. The UA shoe has a better construction and more premium look and feel.
Overall, I really love the battle brewing in footwear and I expect that a lot of people are going to be diversifying their closets this year. New Balance is dropping some very nice and well priced kicks in the NB247 and now the Cruz. UA has the Slingflex and Reveal. adidas and Nike may finally see a slight challenge from other brands this season. What do you think? Aren’t they similar? No? Maybe it’s just the medial/lateral side panel. I immediately thought of the Reveal when I saw it, but I’m just looking to deep. Use the links to grab pairs of all shoes listed in the post.
